i went down the well/to test my lungs/ and stretch my legs/i tried to touch the floor/and make it back/in one breath/and when the water rushed inside/i did not flinch/i tried to make the most/of the experience/
i was haunted/
i went back to my neighborhood/i went through the walls/of the places i hesitated to go/before/i could not speak to anyone/but i left my mark/ the town i'm sure would not/ever be the same/
but before they knew it you were gone/you only held your breath for so long/
you held your breath/and turned away/without a word/to the crowd/they had come from all around/from all around to talk you down/
but before they knew it/you were gone/you only held your breath for so long.
